Vaccinations
Vaccination is the best way to prevent infectious diseases, mitigate the effects of infection,
and contain the spread of infection. There are two types of vaccination: routine vaccination and
optional vaccination. Children with a registered address in the city are eligible to receive the
former free of charge within the designated time period.
To have your child vaccinated, your Maternal and Child Health Handbook and your child’s
vaccination card are required. Please confirm the types of vaccine and the standard vaccination
periods in advance by referring to your Maternal and Child Health Handbook or the publications
below, and have your child vaccinated at medical institutions.
For medical institutions administering vaccinations in the city, please refer to the city’s website
linked below or A Guide for Health Promotion available at the Public Health Center, Citizens’
Centers and branch offices. Please be sure to call a medical institution of your choice to ask
about the necessity of advance reservations and the date and time the vaccination will be
administered.
